Living in Shropshire we can look in almost any direction and see something amazing, but my interest in photography started when I was growing up in British Columbia, Canada. There, surrounded by the natural world, I began my lifelong connection to nature and the environment, developing a fascination for portraits in spectacular landscapes. Now, I am familiar with both the great outdoors and the bustle of city life; having lived in Vancouver, London, Shropshire; cities, towns, flats, farms and everything in-between.

 

Travelling, filming and taking photographs in countries like Peru, Morocco and Tanzania, has exposed me to experiences in different environments giving me insights into a range of different cultures and lifestyles, ultimately teaching me how to adapt to often very different situations. I like to think that this adaptability contributes to the underlying philosophy of my current work - I aim to create a relaxed setting for you in order to best capture your amazing life.

I have worked in many areas of photography including studio portraiture, weddings, concerts, events, magazine photography, film and television productions as well as community and campaigning videos.

Recently, I have branched out into the field of life photography focusing on capturing the relationships and bonds between those in the photographs and revealing their unique lives.

 

In my photograph albums some of my most treasured pictures are not the ones of us all smiling and facing the camera, but ones of real life, with all the mess, the joy and chaos of the everyday. I love it when the people in the picture are doing what they love and being themselves. Does that sound like something you would like too?

I was awarded a BA Hons. degree in film and video from the London College of Communication (formerly the London College of Printing) specialising in Camera and Lighting. Prior to my degree, I had completed an art foundation year, courses on photography, media and a 16mm film camera course at the National Film School.

With my sons grown and following the loss of my husband, I am now determined to focus on the aspects of life that I most enjoy, including helping you capture the moments in your life that you will always treasure.
